Food Security and Access

Increase access to nutritious food with mobile markets, improved food nutrition benefit programming, coordinated distribution, and shared storage.

Capacity-building

Expand workforce skills with career training for high school students, college, and young farmers. Improve community health with nutrition education and Food is Medicine programs.

Value-added Production

Strengthen the local food economy by supporting the development of a shared commercial kitchen with business, marketing, and regulatory guidance.  

Governance and Communication

Establish governance structures that facilitate clear, inclusive communication to sustain long-term food system collaboration. Coordinate communication for internal project planning  and community engagement.

Value Chain Coordination

Reduce barriers to equitable local food procurement with  farmer to buyer contracts, processing facilities, shared cold storage, and a distribution hub.

Information Management

Develop a community data hub for compiling, sharing, and analyzing food access data for transparency, planning, and decision-making across the Upper Shore and beyond.
